What's so Amazing About Grace?
John 1:14-17
[14] And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth. [15] (John bore witness about him, and cried out, “This was he of whom I said, ‘He who comes after me ranks before me, because he was before me.’”) [16] For from his fullness we have all received, grace upon grace. [17] For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.
Romans 3:21-24
[21] But now the righteousness of God has been manifested apart from the law, although the Law and the Prophets bear witness to it—[22] the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all who believe. For there is no distinction: [23] for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, [24] and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus,

We’re familiar with the word, it’s safe to keep as a word
When it becomes the presence of the living God in my soul - it becomes real for the first time.
It’s not a concept, it’s not a word. It’s a reality. Because God is a God of grace.
We live in a world of *ungrace*
How hard for us to believe that true grace is real?
What’s so amazing about grace? We believe it’s too good to be true. It’s amazing because it’s freely given because of the amazing character of God himself.
Undeserved favor
Grace is an outside gift that has nothing to do with what we deserve, merit, or can earn.
God says there is no limit to my grace

Phillip Yancey: Grace means there is nothing I can do to make God love me more, there is nothing I can do to make god love me less.
Everything in life says we have to earn God’s grace. But it’s not true.
God is gracious!
